The mind brain and education program has a foundation in developmental neuroscience. Students must take a core neuroscience course from a list that includes classes of the Harvard Graduate School of Education. the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences and MIT. One popular example is of course, here at HTSC titled typical and atypical neural development.
Students must also take a research methods course in 2 courses and learning and development from a very flexible list. This list includes classes like applying cognitive science to learning and teaching with professor Tina Grocer and individuality and personal ization in education with professor Todd Rose.
You'll also find classes in technology language acquisition and psychology on this list.
The remaining courses are elective and tell her to your own area of interest and everything is tide together by a year long seminar that meets twice per month.
Students will take at least 32 credits over the course of two semesters, an optional January term.
They also have the option to participate in a field experience or internship for credit by registering for our field experience course.
Within this course students work with our career services office to find an internship site and will register for 2 credits or 4 credits for work completed in the fields during the semester.
