The HDP program has 2 strands or 2 pathways of study general HDP and child advocacy. The general strand of EHTP program has a foundation in developmental science. Students must take a core development course from a short list that includes courses like developmental psychology adolescent development or adult development.
Students must also take her research methods course and can choose from a number of quantitative or qualitative course offerings.
From their students can tailor their choices to design a plan of study that best meets their needs.
Students will choose 3 human development related courses from a very long list and one of these courses must have a focus on diversity equity and inclusion.

Students will take at least 32 credits over the course of two semesters, and an optional January term. They also had the option to participate in a field experience or internship for credit by registering for our field experience course.
Within this course students work with our career services office to find an internship site and will register for 2 credits or 4 credits for work completed in the field during the semester.
Well internships are optional for HTP general strength students they are mandatory for students in our child advocacy program.
The child advocacy program has a slightly more specialized curriculum students must take a required year long seminar in child advocacy.
